Diabetea
Composition:
Diabetea is made with a combination of Camellia Sinensis and the herb Gymnema Sylvestre, a woody, climbing plant, whose leaves have been used in the treatment of diabetes for over 2000 years by Indian physicians. Its Hindi name is “gurmar”, meaning, destroyer of sugar. The herb controls the absorption of saccharides in the small intestine and keeps blood sugar levels stable. It protects the pancreas by controlling the secretion of insulin. It also improves blood sugar control, and along with the use of hypoglycemic drugs, reduces insulin requirements for Type I diabetes and leads to discontinuation of medication for Type II diabetes.
Directions for Use:
Add ¾ of a teaspoon to a cup of boiling water and brew for about 3 minutes. Strain, add milk or lime to taste and serve hot.
It is recommended that diabetics with blood sugar levels of 200 mgs or above, drink upto 2 cups of Diabetea a day, along with their regular dosage of drugs. Once blood sugar is down to the normal level, hypoglycemic drugs should be discontinued gradually after a consultation with your physician.
Note:
Diabetea is a general health drink and can also be imbibed by those with normal blood sugar levels and those likely to inherit Type II diabetes. Any sweet taste is numbed for an hour after the intake of Diabetea.
